So I get an occasional rough start on my 2000 V10 with 97k miles. I have not pinpointed any commonalities on what causes the rough start, but it just shakes really bad like multiple misfires going on at same time, or timing way off, but then smooths out within a few seconds and runs just fine. Any ideas, or similar experiences?

I think most of the time that it happens is when I shut it down last after a brief run time, i.e. this time it was after washing the truck, I simply started it long enough to back it into the garage and then shut it off. It was the next day about 24 hours later that I had the rough start. I think this is similar to when it has done it in the past. I do have a K&N filter and Jones muffler 3030XL, but not sure if either of those would effect it. Maybe a dirty or oily MAF from the K&N oil???

I changed my plugs and coils about 18 months ago when I was chasing what ended up being a slightly stuck EGR. I'm wondering if it is the EGR again. Being as the truck is no longer in Cali is there an easy way to delete EGR on these engines? I assume I would need 5-start to turn it off in my tune to keep the CEL off.
