Ok just bought this truck ran fine. Put a sct tuner on that the truck came with and some how got the egr turned on. It had a egr delete so it was smoking and finally found it out that it had turned on but fixed it. Now we have another problem, it will start up and run fine and about 45 seconds it will start running rough and go into a limp mode. It will run rough and starts to die slowly and when it starts to die there is no throttle at all. Please need help
I suppose a little late for why did you mess with it if it was working? Sounds like maybe you reset it to the factory tune or something? Now sure what you mean by "had it turned on but fixed it". If the EGR was deleted you can't turn it on... or fix it. You could turn on the portion of the computer that looks for a reading, which would cause it to do what you're describing. It's trying to compensate for the emissions portion of the software. Could you try better describing what you did with the scanner?
Ok it's my sons truck he was messing with the tuner and loaded the stock tune into it for some reason. It ran rough blowing smoke and I figured out what he had done and he put the strategy tune in it which had the egr on in the program . Which he has fixed now and it stopped smoking now it keep thrown a cylinder 6 in balance when you start it and it runs smooth at first the for a minutes it starts to die the levels out then starts to die then it does die.
