Thoughts on Rear diff play

Are you getting a high speed vibration? That was my symptom. Upon removing the cover, I could see diagonal lines being machined into the carrier from the pinion gear. $2500 later, I've got all new parts in there and ready for another 300k miles.

The truck is driving well with no vibrations the only symptom is at highway speed sometimes upon reapplying the accelerator there will be a noise. Sounds like the slack getting cut out the bang axle is fully engaged. Most people May notice the sound so it’s not super loud or anything. Towed 200 miles yesterday no problem. For me spending that amount on this axle I’d feel unsure even with the work done by a great person. Last go around I told my self great just blew we over 1 k axle is set for 300k more here i am 55k later with an issue.
