need help with auto locking up on 02 excursion

Turning the switch your hear everything working at the transfer case, the pump turns on and runs a several minute cycle and it appears that each line at the steering knuckle has some decent suction but then drops off to nothing almost immediately. I just replaced all the seals. can't confirm i did a good job and everything is tight but I want to back up to what type of suction I should be getting and how long the pump should be running etc. any info ? thanks

Vacuum at hubs only for 10 to 20 or so seconds after 4x4 switch is activated and deactivated. Full vacuum for a few seconds to lock hubs. Partial vacuum (5 to 8 in hg) to unlock hubs.

Auto hubs act like a rachet or ball point pen. Vacuum should be zero after hubs are functioned.

I don't have a diesel so cannot speculate on vacuum pump operation.
