Edge CS2

I’m considering purchasing an Edge CS2 to monitor several parameters on my truck (2015 F-350 w/6.7). I’ve been using a scan gauge since I bought the truck new but now would like the ability to do manual regenerations and monitor other performance parameters.

I have two questions for those that are using the Edge CS2;
  1. Is the CS2 simply plug and play, i.e. just unbox it, plug it into the OBD port, set it up and go? Or will I have to download software from Edge, upload it onto the CS2 and then install it in the truck?
  2. Is performing a manual regen with the CS2 a straight forward process?
Thanks for any help.

Dave

First off, are you talking about the Edge CTS/CTS2? These are the monitors from Edge. Not sure if the CS will tune an undeeleted truck or not.

Yes, you will need to download the Fusion software from Edge and update the CTS/CTS2. Once updated, it is pretty much plug and play. You can go and select which screen style and what PIDs you want to monitor.

Yes, a manual regen is fairly straight forward. You do have to answer a number of yes/no questions to insure you are really wanting to do the manual regen.

I have had both CTS and CTS2. I currently have the CTS2. Photos shows where I have my CTS2 located and the hood I made for it. ALso shows which PIDs I monitor

Thanks Larry. Very helpful info. Nice hood too!

According to the Edge web site the model I’m considering is a CS2. Mostly cause it’s less $’s than the CST2 and I don’t see a reason for the extra $’s given that I just want to monitor a few parameters and be able to do a manual regen. I don’t want to tune my truck in any way nor do I plan on deleting my truck anytime in the near future. It’s my understanding from the Edge website that the CS2 isn’t a “tuner”, just a monitor that can do a manual regen.

can relate to saving the coins.....but down the road?....the CTS2 can be upgraded to load a tune for a non-deleted truck. Not sure about the CS2

DO you happen to know where in the menus, to trigger the manual regen? I did not think the CTS2 was able to trigger/control one. Or at least I have never found it in the menus.

I believe you have to go into Diag menu. I have not done a manual regen in a few years, so do not remember the exact process. I will try to check today if someone else doesn't chime in with the answer.

Larry,

Is your Edge an Insight CTS2 or an Evolution CTS2?
