Adding a rear camera to a trailer

Does anyone know if there is a solution to add a rear camera to a trailer and use the factory radio 8" screen to display it?

I hate the idea of adding an external monitor to my dash just to display the trailer camera...

Get a connector cable for the tailgate. run some wires under the trailer and put a second camera there. use the connector under the tailgate and swap cameras when wanted.

I'm curious: Have you done this successfully? How long of a trailer? Any issues with signal degradation over the long wire?

Great idea, except that it only works when backing up. Not that that is bad, it's just that there are times when I'm going down the road when I want to see who/what is behind the trailer.
