That folding 40/20/40 front seat is not my cup of tea but I am interested in what you all think of it. Anybody love it?

If you need room for 6 then you need it.

Used mine once or twice but that's because it wasn't a SCrew. Didn't like anything about it, I have the console now and love it.

I much prefer the large console, and wouldn’t even consider a truck without it.

I finally got the console in my most recent truck and will never go back. Cup holders on 40/20/40 were unusable, as well as the armrest when folded down was ridiculously high. The only downside is I can't sit kind of sideways and stretch out my legs when eating lunch at work. Also with the console you get better vision looking back without the 40/20/40 seat back and headrest and a generally more roomy feeling. I'm honestly not sure, but I think there is a vent, cup holder, and USB port in back of console for rear seat passengers as well.

Last 3 had buckets and console... Would not be without it. Sometimes I miss being able to put my right foot/leg across for a stretch on a trip....but I got over it..

The bigger issue for me was having rear AC vents with the center console. This was an absolute MUST have...

X2. The rear vents + the 12v and AC chargers makes for a lot less complaints from kids in the back seat.

I'm a 40/20/40 seat guy, and I guess I'm in the minority, lol. I find the console trucks I've been in very confining, the 40/20/40 has more room even when the arm rest is down.

Sounds like the 40/20/40 front seat is not that popular. I wonder why Ford made so many XLTs with them. Maybe it just reflects the population of XLT trucks that haven't sold yet?

Agree with everything you said. The armrest is way too high and makes the angle of your arm uncomfortable.

I've had both and I like the 40/20/40. I'm a weird dude I guess.

Wanted console but leftover 18 had 40/20/40 and coming from a 13 stx with nothing in the jump seat back this works just fine. Probably won't have 6 people in truck but nice to be able too. Would have got console if I ordered myself.

If you don't need the passenger room. I would personally never get one without the console. Did it once and regretted it. More storage room. And a personal preference i guess. I just think the bench looks cheap. That is an option well worth the money to me.

I prefer 40/20/40 because you have more options, 95% of the time I have the armrest flipped down but it's nice to be able to flip it up if you want to sit three across of have something you want to set in between the front passengers. I also think the 40/console/40 setup feels cramped.
