Crew Cab Body Mounts

In my efforts to source new body mounts for my project, I ran across S&B Filters making silicone body mounts for the 2003-2007 (they also have them for the 2008-2016). They do not however have any for 1999-2002.

I sent and inquiry to S&B about the 1999-2002, said that they are in development and expect early 2020 release.

Then I asked what was different between the 1999-2002 mounts and the 2003-2007 mounts. The answer? One is a 7.3L and the other is 6.0L. I know this much, that you could have your choice in 2003 between the 7.3L and a 6.0L. But that is getting nit picky.

My question to the group is, what IS the difference between the body mounts 1999-2002 and 2003-2007? Is it the cab? I very much doubt that. Is it the frame where the body mounts land? The thickness of the mount?

For the 1999-2001, the very rear body mount for the crew cab has been discontinued....and you just can't find one.

Thanks for posting that info. Here's the link. I don't know about your question though. Somebody else probably will though.

Better open your pocket book. Not cheap but if they last and perform better, why not?

$600 is a pretty penny for the crew cab set though.

Where did you find them for 600? I scoured the internet for hours and 699 was the best price I could find. My set should be in tomorrow, mines a 2010 CC.

I'll try to take some pics and do a review on them when I do the swap

That's what I saw them for when I looked at them.

Post up your installation and review of them once in... Thanks.

The set that I have interest in is for 2003-2007, S&B has them listed for $599....and that is too rich for my blood. I can't imagine $700.

I'll figure out how to find/fit a new rear mount, or make the Daystar's acceptable.

Yea it kind of hurt to spend that, but the other options were Dorman oem style rubber, which could potentially be in the same shape in a few years, or one of the cheap polyurethane kits. I've used the poly sets on a truck before, and they were noisy, shifted around and made the truck ride worse in general. I hope to keep this truck a long time, so I decided to spend the coin and hope to do this job only once.

I agree with you seemoremud. The "do once and do it right" mentality. Hopefully I won't need them for awhile... I'm hoping my Carwell oiling every fall early winter will help with mine.

Quick update on the S&B kit. The provided bolts are too short for 3 positions. Otherwise, it seems to be a very high quality and well put together kit, but for $700 I didn't expect to have to reuse my old bolts. I'm mid-install right now, just thought I'd take a break and throw this out there, will do a full write-up and review when completed.

All 8 provided bolts vs 4 from driver side of truck

Provided bolt in kit vs original from front position D-side, new bolt will not reach the cage nut

I sent an e-mail out to them Sunday night, no response as of tonight (Monday). The install went well. Truck rides soo much better. I posted a review & write-up of the install here in the 99-16 forum. Pardon the couple of sideways pics, I had to transfer the pics from my phone to my laptop and feel pretty fortunate to have figured that out, much less editing them.

Already read it. Good job. If you have an Android phone, there are 3 dots in the upper right hand corner. If you press them when a photo is displayed, you get a rotate option. Then you can rotate it left or right. If you have an iPhone, I can't help you.
