Still trying to fix my lean, down each side of my truck there are the rubber mounts it looks like I'm not sure what they are or what they do. Is there a way to take them off and replace if needed.
That could cause the right. I checked all over the frame took measurements all was the same maybe off by a hair but close as it gets I think it's the body itself that's leaning
I would think a body mount problem would be readily visible. I don't know your cab configuration but you have at LEAST 4 on your cab maybe 6 or 8. You should be able to hear it if you had a bad body mount.
I could be wrong, but even though this is for the rear only, I would assume a bad rear lean would cause the front to lift on one side?
99-05 F-SuperDuty Rear Suspension Lean: TSB 04-23-6 This applies to rear suspension lean only. The truck needs to be parked on a level surface with no load (or at least loaded evenly) and all tires inflated evenly. Inspect for spring damage or shackle bushing wear. Measure vertically from the lowest point of the wheel rim (not from the ground) to the wheel lip. If the measurment is within 3/5" from side to side, no action is required. If the measurement is greater than 3/4", measure the gap from the top of the axle to the rebound bumper bracket. If this measurment is within 3/4", inspect the body mounts and have the frame checked. If the measurement is between 3/4-1", install shim 3C3Z-5A300-AA on the low side, between the spring spacer and spring seat. If the measurement is between 1-1.75", install shim 5C3Z-5742-AA on the low side. If the measurement is greater than 2", replace the spring. Install longer U-bolts if necessary.
I will re measure in the am. Thanks for the advice. I might bring it in to ford if I can't pin point it. They said they would not charge me if they don't fix it.
I took some measurements this morning and the frame is equal the axel is all good it is sitting 1 1/2" lower on driver side front. It has to be the body not sure what though the body mounts look ok, but when I measure from ground to body mount bracket it is sitting 1 1/2" lower on drivers side. I am at a loss here I think I might have to bring it to ford body shop.
Ok in think what I'm going to do is place a 1/12" metal shim under the leaf spring on the front drivers side. Is this going to be horrible for just a bandaid fix until I bring it in to ford just don't have the time or patience for that now. Thoughts?
