Hello all! Just bought my 2019 F350 Black Dually powerstroke last week. I was formerly a die hard dodge cummins owner ( 11 trucks in 30 years) LOL Jumped ship and am super happy with my ford. I teach high school and rodeo professionally. I am a stickler on maintenance and already have my speadsheet set up to log it. Only thing I am not finding is weather or not I need to add Limited slip additive to my rear diff???? I know it doesn't need changing for 50K but I like to get the break in fluid out , same with engine oil after 1,000 miles or so. DO you ford guys/gals do this to? THe fluid that comes in a dodge/Ram rear end is basically black water from the factory. Says 75/90 synthetic is the weight of choice for front and rear diff?
On a dually, you'll have the Dana 300. Here's the specs from the owners manual. (Starts around page 429 for the PS 6.7) And welcome to Ford!
For complete refill of limited slip Ford axles add 7.1 fl oz. (210 ml) of Additive Friction Modifier XL-3 or equivalent meeting Ford Specification EST-M2C118-A this added friction modifier should be included in the total lube volume 3.58 L (3.78 qt).
