Whats everyone's preferred brand or style? I'm going to have to pick one up in the next couple of weeks.

Innova seems to be highest reviewed on amazon. Mine should arrive tomorrow.

Second, the recommendation, the Innova's are the best value for the money. If you are planning on doing more than just adjusting the base timing. Spring for the pro unit You won't regret the purchase.

I'm glad this was brought up with some people to back it up. I don't always trust Amazon reviews, I have had the innovia in my amazon cart for about 2 months now lol.

For another viewpoint - I bought a flaming river el-cheapo, it runs on 2 "D" cells. No bells whistles, doesn't need a wi-fi connection or blue teeth or anythang. It works just fine for curving a distributor, just have to install a timing degree tape on the balancer out to 50° or so. It was about $50 or so.

I have the Innova Digital version, no complaints, have used it many times trying to dial in my base timing and idle RPM.

My FR light was not bright enough to see the marks on my drag car at the track.
Reminds me I should pull the batteries if they have not leaked as I have not used it in about 10 years.

I'd agree with that, good point they definitely aren't flash bulb bright like xenon strobes and the rest of it. They work OK in a garage.
