Hi all, I am looking for replacement plastic for the inside of my truck ( 1981 F100 ) there is plastic covers that go down each side of the inside of the windshield. mine are cracked and broken.
i don;t know the same of the part to search. can someone direct me.. Burgundy color is preferred. but if not, then i can pain them..
thanks..
Reamer >> thanks.. Ok, i see the part in the list you posted, thanks..
But after scouring the web for over an hour, i find nothing available.. What to do ?
Is there a source for these or are they made of unobtanium ?
Currently made with first-class Unobtanium, Junk yards, they also are "running out" of 80's carcasses.
This might be the time to pick up a donor truck close by, there are still some out there.
See if you find one Without a title, they are cheaper...
I did some digging and didn't come up with much. This has been a problem for many years. It looks like everyone else is using later model a pillar trim, from 87-96 trucks. They say fit is the same. Still have to get ones to match your setup, headliner vs non headliner. The only difference is the mounting holes are different so you would have to drill a couple of under sized holes for the trim screws.

Can't confirm, just what I read here.
I can confirm it is not a 100% fit. The bottom is cut different due to the different dash, secondly the screw holes are different if that bothers you, thirdly where it interfaces with the metal trim across the top of the windshield is different.
My passenger side was cracked I had the piece and was able to glue it up, the crack is visible if you look hard enough.
My drivers side is missing a chunk if you look at my resto thread you will see it. Don't have the pictures on this PC.
I bought some ABS I am going to form fit it with some heat and prayer to fix that pillar. and some screw points on my bezels. If that doesn't work I am going to try kydex. IF none of that works I am weighing two options. Create a mold and start fabing pillar covers or have my buddy scan this bad boy and start 3d printing them.

Is the fit off in such a way you could trim and sand the edges and it look pretty good? My votes on 3d printing. There are lots of parts on these I think you could print up. Maybe the hold downs for the exterior windshield trim.
Dashtop does the dash pad, door panels, map panels, rear quarters, headliners, and arm rests... I wonder if we could convince them to do the pillar trim as well.
