Yet another reason to use the map apps on your phone.
I use Apple CarPlay so I use Apple Maps, Google, Waze, Sygic, and I also enjoy the stock navigation system when my APIM is acting properly because believe it or not, it has never led me in the wrong direction but I’m sure it will because all navigation systems have bad or wrong directions or they just can’t locate something.
With that being said said, I like having choices and if my new APIM fixes everything, even if I don’t get the new maps, I’ll be using the stock navigation more than anything else.
I’m not sure if any forum members have tried it but Sygic is very cool and they’re offering the full version for free for a two week trial.
Well guys, I had my APIM replaced this morning and I received a couple of nice surprises.
I don’t know if this is the most current for non 2019 F150’s so perhaps someone can chime in but I know it’s different from what I had before the replacement.
I now have SYNC 3 version 3.0 Build 19149 and the Navigation Maps Version: NA 1 17
Before I had Build 18093 Navigation Maps 1 15
I guess I have the most up to date maps that comes stock on current model year F150’s.
Fingers crossed that this APIM holds up longer than the first / stock one.
Doubt it consider my truck that is 37 days old has 1.17
After my APIM replacement today, it looks like my 2016 now has the same maps as your 2019.
Previously, I had 1.15
Yes, both versions are not the most current which has to be purchased and that’s still not saying a lot but it’s nice to have the update for free.

Same here. Got my truck on the 19th of August. It came into dealership on about the 14th. I ordered it. It has maps 1. 17 and SYNC 3.0 and the ****er won't update even though it keeps trying. Dealership is going to re-install the Sync on Oct 1. Said it will take about 3 hours.

That time frame at the dealer sounds about right.
After my APIM was installed yesterday, the actual programming took between 3&4 hours.
Ford tells me that I do have the latest Map program but due to a software bug it still shows it having the 1 15 version. So I have about giving up. Look forward to the updated Apple Carplay though, anybody tried it yet?

I just started playing with the updated CarPlay yesterday and the new look is nice and the touch screen operation of the app seems smother and more fluid.
I’m sure there’s much more to learn so it’s going to take several days to figure it all out.
