2002 4.6 explorer engine question
Good morning all! I bought my first explorer last night for $750. It’s in great shape in and out, the trans had been rebuilt 10k ago. It needs the motor either rebuilt or replaced. Trying to find the most cost effective yet safest way to fix it. Your thoughts? I’ve been doing some research but still unsure

I would find a 32 valve motor.
The 4.6 3V's are cheap not as reliable
The 4.6 2V's are plentiful. (get one from a town car)
All of the 4.6 lincolns 2v's in our fleet have over 200k. One has 600k. The motors and trans are almost bulletproof.
