Evolution CTS2 Speedo Calibration
Hi all,
I just put 305/70/16 Toyo MT’s on my ‘99 F-250LD. I input that size into my Edge CTS2 and flashed the tune, and then checked with GPS. Also, confirmed the correct gear ratio was input. In the lower speed (10-25mph) range everything was about dead on. But as I accelerated, I found the speedo was reading a solid 4-5mph less than what the GPS said it was going. I understand that you have to account for “squish factor”, so I’ve tried reducing the size by 3%, and then 5%. Still no real improvement, I’m still going faster than my truck says, which will ultimately also throws off my odometer, right?
What am I doing wrong? I hate tuning the truck so much. I understand it’s trial and error but I want to make as few changes as possible. The fuel pump runs the ENTIRE time it’s tuning every time and I don’t think that’s very good.
