My chain wrapping excursive is for when I back in my 10k trailer into parking spots which is a lot easier than trying to use the rear hitch. My thinking is the chain wrap across the hooks will give me more tongue weight .i don’t think the chain wrap adds anything to the straight line pull.
my front hitch is a 9k straight line pull and 500lb young weight.
i wouldn’t be a freight to put ac12k winch on my front witch because there are loop back devices that you can use to terminate the cable to one of your hooks which in theory would give you 2:1 instead of 1:1, increasing your which power while decreasing your winch load since the tow hook would get part of the load (50% if cable length from hook to load and winch to load was the same, etc)
I've tried researching and looking for videos or photos to describe what you're talking about but have not been able to find one . I apologize for my inexperience

****** block
strap the ****** block to a tree, and then run the cable thru it and to your load OR put the ****** block on your load and run the cable thru it and terminate to one of your tow hooks.

So by using the snatchblock that relieves some of the point strain on your receiver? RH rates the receiver at 9500 stright pull . I guess I'm trying to wrap my head around my vehicle weighs 9300 pounds with a full tank and myself in it if by some chance I get stuck Using a ****** block would relieve some of the stress On the receiver as well as the wench?
Yes, ****** block will relieve some of the stress, but not so much if you're doing off center pulls. Also, steel cable doesn't work as well as synthetic rope on ****** blocks. That's my experience, I don't have anything other than anecdotal evidence on that.
Not knowing much about thickness of wire and type of connectors to get, would someone let me know what plugs and wires to get for a 12000 lb winch setup . I will use one of these for sure .
Thank you
If you are going to use the winch a LOT, then Warn is probably the way to go. However, if you use them occasionally, many others will work. I have the Smitty 12k on my dually after reading the tests from a few years ago just before I bought it. A little faster line speed(not always a good thing), cooler overall temps throughout the tests and cheaper. NOW, the Warn was a beast as well, but when they disassembled the Warn, it had a lot less grease for lubrication on the gears which every one found odd. They tore the rest of them down and found the same. Since then guys that have bought Warns have opened them up and added more grease. I have had a Harbor Freight 10K on my car trailer for about 7 years now and it works just fine. If you have the money and intend on using it quite a bit, Warn.

Agreed. I've had my winch for a little more than a year. I've used it once. Not enough to justify warn money but more than enough to justify harbor freight/smittybuilt money.
I look at it this way I'd rather have it And not use it the need it and not have it I don't see myself using it that often that's why I would remove it in story and the house only during badd weather And if out and about camping And such it will not be exposed to the elements too often Like I said I'd rather have something than nothing and yes I No there is no punctuation and this I'm too lazy right now and doing talking text
