Howdy, I've been chasing an electrical issue on my 04 zf6 for quite some time now. Basically it doesn't crank at all from the key, and nothing on the cluster works except for ABS and seatbelt lights. I've diagnosed everything I can think of at this point. Checked and cleaned all grounds, even added more frame to cab and engine to cab just to make sure. All fuses getting power in key on position, Ohm's reading good on all related fuses. 12v power at all 3 cluster plugs, only codes that are coming up are UO155 for no communication with instrument cluster, and PO113 which is due to my intake being removed/unplugged. I can hear the injectors buzz when I turn the key, but nothing cranks when you turn it. I swapped clusters, PCM's, and fuseboxes with no avail to the issue. If I unplug the yellow/black wire by the heater box and touch it to the pos terminal truck cranks just fine. FICM reads 49-52V. The other piece to it is the the few lights that do work on the cluster already mentioned only come on if you "switch" the dome light on. I can hear all the relays clicking for the starter and what not, but still nothing. At this point I would appreciate any suggestions. I was going to try swapping the ignition lock next, but I'd rather not throw parts at it without diagnosing the issue first.
I have ran through this thread and multiple others that are similar. I appreciate it, however it still doesn't give any direction as to why the electrical issue persists with the cluster. The one thing I did miss is the clutch safety, which I'm unaware of anyway to bypass it (if i have to buy a new one I will).
Fuse box under the dash. I guess I need to retract. My 06 has 4 (2,33,35,41) ..... your 04 has two.
Fuses 35, 41
Ahh I thought you meant inline fuses in the harness somewhere. Both those fuses are getting power and Ohm's are reading fine. The cluster plugs are also getting power.
