7.3 injector cup issue

Hi there, there’s a bit of backstory to my issue. A bit ago I had been losing a lot of oil at a fast rate, couldn’t figure out what it was. Truck ran fine, had no issues other than having to fill up on oil every week. I ended up narrowing it down to my injector o rings being all eaten up and my oil was going into my fuel. I then proceeded in taking my injectors out and replacing the o rings. Upon starting the truck up I could tell it sounded different, it also was shooting coolant out the rad cap, I read online that it was most likely just air in the hpop and I needed to drive it for a bit to get the air out. After driving some more the truck just felt off so I looked into other problems and I came across injector cup failure. I thought maybe I had bitched up one when I was putting my injectors back in. So I parked the truck again and began tearing it back apart to see what was up, and once I took the valve covers off there was a good amount of white sludge on the covers. So there is definitely water coming from somewhere. I then took the injectors out and 3 have soot on the bottom of the injectors, I tried looking this up but had no luck finding what the soot meant. The rest of the injectors are clean in that spot. I’m pretty sure it’s my injector cups but I wouldn’t mind some input on anything else it could be incase I’m overlooking something. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Pressurize the cooling system to 16PSI, and see if theres coolant coming out the injector cups. Also make sure you dont have an injector copper washer still in the bore of the cup.

what did you torque them to?

You didn't make them tight enough or doubled up on the copper washer

Did you only remove the bottom bolt to injector?

radiator shooting coolant isn't related to HPOP.
maybe a cup could have been damaged if two copper washers were used

I’d agree with the thought that the injector either wasn’t seated properly or it wasn’t torqued right and it backed itself out, enough to let the combustion into the injector.
