So I pulled my valve covers to re o ring my injectors in an attempt to solve my internal oil leak and i noticed that i have 3 different injectors. I have 1 AA injector 1 AB injector and 6 AD injectors is this going to create any problems? My scanner says i have 2 cylinders that are out of balance, or something to that effect, in addition to the low ICP numbers when the oil is warm.
Based on the info you provided we're talking about a 7.3L
If you actually had such badly mismatched injectors, the truck would have always run extremely poor.
What you have is rebuilt injectors, probably from an aftermarket company. Injector solenoids are often swapped and will display AA-AE, but that doesn't mean it's what the actual injector underneath. Solenoids are interchangeable, hence the discrepancy you see.
It's also very common to have 2 cylinders out of balance on a contribution test. Ignore it for now and get the o-rings done. I'm assuming you're oil is disappearing right?
yes sir its a 7.3 and thank you for the insight. im not losing oil but ill get 1500 psi at the icp when the oil is cold and the truck starts immediately but when the oil warms up to 120* and i shut the truck off i only get 250 psi and i have to let the oil cool down to 105* before i can get the 500 psi to start the truck back up. the truck does run sluggish and sounds sick at idle
