can anyone point in the right direction as to what I need to get the kickdown hooked up properly?

What size is the engine?
It's an Edelbrock on a 400. I know I need a new air cleaner base before anyone makes the comment it just broke.
On the second pic you have a hole below where the large round spring mounting hole. Looks like a post about 2" long in that hole would allow you to fab up an extension to the transmission lever pretty easily. Does not seem like it would interfere with the original throttle ball linkage.
