Just to make sure I'd be getting the right one - I'd like to know what and where all the mounting hardware for fenders/grille/etc is located and connected to. Is the chasis book the correct one? Seems to me the body book would be what I need.
The problem with these individual year catalogs is: Ford changed the basic part numbers for u-joints and etc, so you'll be looking for a part number that hasn't existed since the mid/late 1950's.
Yes, but you can still find parts based on old numbers from small sellers, and a swap meet part in an old box will be easily identified.

To me, the 1944-1952 Body book isn’t real useful. The Chassis Catalog is most helpful. There is also a fastener book that gives the finish, head shape, etc, of all fasteners. I’ll take a picture of mine later and edit to post it. This is the May 1954 edition. Stu

The cab & bed are body parts, everything else is chassis parts.
Over the years, I've had about a dozen of the 1944/52 body parts catalogs, but sold them at car swap meets.
This catalog appears on ebay from time to time. Price varies wildly with some waaay over priced!
I used to buy obsolete parts from west coast Ford dealers, would buy the parts catalogs and shop manuals, too.
Here's a pic from the 1948/56 catalog. Upper 1948/50, lower 1951/52.
Sorry to distract, but with regard to part 16412 in the diagram above that Bill posted, This is a splash guard, but I have never seen one installed. Is anyone using this? Pictures?
