Intermittent No Throttle Response

Hi I'm new to having a diesel. I have an 06 F250 6.0, my trouble started with when i would come to a stop it wouldn't do anything when i rolled into the throttle then jump up hard to like 2000-2500 rpm. It has gotten worse on occasion i have went to pull out and have nothing all the way to the floor almost got t-boned with family in the truck. Most of the time you can tell if its doing it when you start up idles a little rougher than normal, most of the time I can turn the truck off restart it and acts normal. I ordered an AE obd reader but not sure what to check and what it should be when checking, as this is my first diesel. I have changed fuel filters, drained water separator, checked ficm voltages 12.5-13v on both and 47.5-48v on the other, checked Petal position and it is reading correct today when i started it i had to be at 22-24% on the petal before it would start reving at all. I'm at at total loss and don't have the money to put it in the shop and i live on a disability check. Would appreciate all help if the is something i need to check i will and put it up not really sure of what the values are supposed to be when checking. Also the truck is not smoking sometimes it does it sometimes it acts normal and it is has no CEL on and no DTC's are showing up.
Thanks again for any help to get me back on the road..

Do you have anything to read live data?
One thing that will cause a failure of the throttle is a short in the Vref. This can happen at the EBP sensor.
The EBP (Exhaust Back Pressure) sensor has a plug going into the top and the wires can get damaged
so that they can short do to missing insulation.

Take a look in the Tech Folder for the topic of wire chaffing.

Vref should be at 5 volts give or take a bit. If you see it drop during the no throttle
response then that is where I would start looking.

I actually had this happen to me recently.. While i had no throttle response ,i looked at my ICP ,and it was 1200 with the truck running and idling. Engine sounded different . Pulled over ,,popped hood open and gave the ICP sensor a smack with a flashlight. Engine tone changed immediately back to normal , ICP reading 625 at idle and throttle worked normal. Just a thought that you can try.

thanks for the suggestions i went ahead and put it in the shop. They said its definitely an electrical issue losing connectivity to the injector control pressure they are still trying to run down exactly which wire is shorting. They seemed like a pretty fair shop doing the diagnostic and finding the issue for 95 we will see what it costs to fix when they find the exact problem but owner said he believes it will be a fairly simple fix. Thanks again for everyone that tried to help me.

Don't let them run you to the poorhouse.
There are a few well known places on the engine bay harness that are known for chaffing.
What I would of done would be to take a 5X or 10X magnifier lens and checked the plugs
at the EBP and the ICP for insulation damage.

Unfortunately electrical wiring isssues are a good portion luck. Sometimes you find it right away, sometimes not. The rule we had when I was running road service trucks after an hour it went to the shop,

My old boss one time had me drop the oil pan and pull the oil pump in a bus (Cummins Straight 6) because it read no oil pressure. It sounded good and suggested we install a mechanical gauge and check the wires but he knew better! after being out of service for a week, completed reassembly, and needing to use it we put a gauge on it and pressure was perfect. Pulled a new wire to the sending unit and guess what, perfect match to the mechanical gauge.
