This was on FB page. Would you do something like this? I have mixed feelings, on one hand I think this truck looks fairly restorable and would hate to waste it for something like this but on the other hand I think this would be cool as hell. Heck, I have the perfect place for it in my backyard, Of course mine would have to be a Monkey Face.
The perfect place in my backyard but I doubt my wife would ever let me put a truck there.
My buddy down the street put this in his flower bed..... looks great...he used solar lights he got at lowes for the he turnsignals and head lights...
I Iike that! Something like I would do. I already have low voltage lighting all aound the pond, wouldn't take much to do. I'm waiting back to see what the wife says, I ain't holding my breath for approval.
Biggest problem is the first truck is a $2000 truck, post "Reality" TV, to most of sane truck guys its a $200 truck. If I ever stumble onto a $200 truck I will have to do it.
I don’t get it. What does a truck have to do with a waterfall? I think it’s dumb. Now the truck with the lights on just as a truck should is cool
im working on something that I think is dumb , stupid, but I think it will be better than the scrap pile
I think both the lights & fountain are cool. There is a certain sadness in basically determining that that particular truck will never again see the road - I guess it depends on how bad it is to begin with.
Bob, mind trading backyards, though? Yours looks nice! I have some very nice gravel & a couple cactus, if you're interested.

I have a couple of people in my immediate area who have beyond retore Model As and Ts in their front yards as lawn art. This is basically the same. A lot of people are drawn to water effects so what is the difference between having water pouring out of an urn under a statue's arm or squirting out of a cement fish's mouth? Or any other kind of statuary? If I could get away with doing it I would.

Yeah, that would be my problem too. It eat at me to fix it up. Unfortunately up here old iron is getting really scarce. If it still resembles a truck people think the rust is gold. I couldn't justify paying $2000 for something to just sit there. I would have a heck of a time trying to transport and them situate a $200 truck because the metal would be paper thin.
Nah, I think I'll keep my yard, I'm not a fan of the dry desert, I like green for the 5 months we have it. I could trade the snow and cold we get for the other 7 months though.
BTW, the ponds were in the yard when we bought the house, they were overgrown and a mess. I wanted to tear it all out but we decised to try to clean them up. Glad we did, water pumps from the lower pond up to the upper pond and travels back down a creek. Relaxing to listen to the water and look for frogs.
my next door neighbor collects old iron... iron wheels tractors, implements, trucks, old signs, etc . He's even got a model T truck guarding his bee hives. His favorite color is 'rust'.
This is right beside our common fence...but if he puts a fountain under it I'm cutting his water line
If the truck/car is pretty far gone then having it end up as yard art is a good thing.
I was going to bury a mid 20's Buick cowl with a couple of old wheels and fenders and grill shell out in the side yard, but then someone offered me a silly amount of money for the cowl. So, I'm saved from having to do physical labor in constructing my yard art....whew...
Here's an old International truck in my buddy's back yard. He has put some solar lights in the headlamps so that it will light up at night
Although that is beautiful, the truck doesn't appear to be in a "beyond usable " condition. On the other hand, it looks like it could be saved pretty easily if the owner had a mind to.
I like the F1 parked in front of the garage at Martin Bros Customs in the Iron Resurrection TV show. It has an automotive related function...as a "sign" it looks cool, as a planter or waterfall not so much.
