2008 F150 STX. NO KEYPAD entry. Remote open was fine yesterday. Nothing today. Back up with fresh battery not working either. Changed batteries and nothing. Lock button on driver and passenger side work fine. Tried reprogramming on/off x 8 and locks don't cycle. Repeated after wait period. Nothing. At a loss. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Interesting area . Have no Idea where receiver is for remote pad or fob . My guess would be body control module behind rear seat since thats where code is marked .. Of course check all fuses . I would wonder about wires in drivers door hinge that fail for master pad also . wires break inside insulation due to many many openings of driver .door.
This should make for some good conversations and past experiences . I use the keypad all the time . .
I have run thru some that you have to have the doors closed and cycle the lock switch to lock and unlock a few times the try the 8 key cycle ending in run position. If you can't get into program mode you may have to get it scanned to see if there are codes and if VSM is communicating.
Maybe the issue isn't with the FOB. Next I'd try disconnecting the vehicle battery for a few minutes to reboot all of the electronics to see if that solves it.
You can look at the ford repair manual under entry systems . I have not located a good diagram yet. I 'm kind of confused with a body control module or a security module ?? There seems to be some relays involved but I'm not sure yet .
I would change locations and disconnect battery for 10 minutes or so to see if it resets or you are near an interfering signal . Then check to see if system is enabled .
But the drivers door jam is highly suspect .
Thanks. Will try the battery idea. Checked the door wires and looked fine. The lock unlock button works so I imagine that it would not if the wires were bad. Also, thanks for the manual info. So far I have not found a bad fuse.
There has to be some wires in door jam going to bcm behind back seat as the code resides there. The master pad inside door is different . Wires break inside insulation so they are not apparent . As to the antenna input from fob to bcm I just haven't found that out . Or its location .
So it was a FOB issue. Bought a new one and was able to program it and it works. Odd that both of the old ones failed at the same time. Thanks for all of your suggestions.
