I Cant See

Somebody pointing out a minute ago about, i need mirrors. Them paddles are no good to where i need to park the trailer.
I want manual telescoping. No need for blinkers, heated or ones that add hair to my head when looking into it.
What aftermarkets have you guys purchased and would do it again?
What ones changed color and how long did that take?
If you still have an old link, that be cool if you mind posting it.

I found a set on ebay for 76.xx std. Looks like oem 99-03 style. Have sold hundreds..but, i know of members that complained about the fit, leaving a funny gap and/or mirror discoloring...

Plenty of people have upgraded their mirrors, pulling the stockers. I might be one of those soon - I dunno. You can put out the call to those who upgraded, relieving a member of a shelf cover.

We in the same "Filthy Oar", Tug...haha
Seeing a white wall just not doing it for me anymore. When trailer towed with the CC(has telescoping), i can see if the trailer brake lights work, lol.
Its why im looking now. Never saw the benefit until then...

I went through A1 auto. Did the 08 style, they had some that were plug and play with my old e99 truck. Power glass, no marker/turn signal, no heat, no power fold/extend. Really happy with them, and they are a supporter here as well I believe. Mirrors came with black textured caps, smooth paint to match and chrome, in the box.

Mounted on truck

No distortion in glass, no excessive vibration when driving

Like njstern87, I installed the 2008+ mirrors. I did have the tow mirrors from the factory on my 2000, but the 2008+ were a big improvement and I would highly recommend them, unless you get the old tow mirrors for free. I bought my 2008+ mirrors from Ebay and they fit like OEM up close against the door panel. They have not discolored or faded at all in the GA sun. They did need to have a plastic "positioning peg" cut off, but a pair of wire cutters and 5 seconds took care of that.

Good quality, probably not as good as 1A Auto, but I have not had mine side by side with a 1A Auto version, so I cannot confirm that.

I installed 08+ Ford oe takeoff tow mirrors on the F450. They are completely manual and that is ok by me. I have them adjusted where I want them and they stay extended all the time. The 08+ are soooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the older ones. The only time I would adjust the older tow mirrors was backing into a parking spot. The lower curved mirror on the 08+ is so stinking big this is not necessary for me.

The excursion has a pair of the older style tow mirrors my brother in law gave me when he bought aftermarket ones. They are good enough because they were free. They are power but I assume that I need a new switch because they won't go left. Neither did the stock little ones. These mirrors worked correctly for him.

I kick this around, but don't know if I will ever change (I mean the truck will ever change mirrors).

Wow...that is a helluva rear view with those mirrors. I did not know what I was missing with the 2000 model variety. That might need to go in the bucket list.

Jeff they’re worth every penny! The larger blind spot mirror on the bottom provides such a better picture regardless of towing or just lane changes. I paid $115 for the pair.

Both of my 2000's have telescoping mirrors. I look at the '08 picture above, and that's what I see out the side - except mine are more stylish than that blocky thing.

Again, going from the mirrors like Tugly shows to the mirrors like Njstern87 shows was a big improvement. The 2008+ mirrors really shine when you are looking down the side of a 5th wheel trailer. The blind spot view is enough of an improvement alone to upgrade to the 2008+ mirrors.

Although, the old style tow mirrors would be a good find if they were next to free. If you are paying anything, just crack open the wallet a bit more for the 2008+ and you will be much happier.

Parked at work today. I didn't pull up enough to get the trailer straight with the truck. Hard to see in the picture on the driver's side because of the shadow but I can actually see the ground in front of the rear truck tires.

+1 on the 08+ mirrors from 1A Auto, I did go for the one's with the side markers and heat...haven't hooked up the heat yet but the side marker lights were pretty easy just using a couple T-Taps

No issues with vibration, fit and finish are perfect.

I have the same opinion as Tug, never cared for fhe 08+ mirrors. The old telescoping ones do just fine. Just in case Timmy you decide to buy those ebay ones keep in mind the glass shakes alot and it distorts your vision, I know I bought some of those $76 ones lol. I would try and score used OEM or even new ones if you want to drop the dime.

^^^There we go, thanks Freak!
Been eyeballing them and almost pulled the trigger later today.
Guy with a TORE up 01 f350 is selling as is on clist. Called him on wanting to trade plus some cheese for his manual trlescoping..he said no..lol
Me personalky, if my rides "tight" looking, id go for the 08+ style but, this rides' rock'n 15 cans of flat black .99cent ratylecan paint job and bedliner painted rocker panels..lol.
You guys' 08 styles look killer and the angle views are what im goin for. If any style comes, ill jump. However, if not a score from clist, then looks like im drop'n a few bennys on a good set.
