So I have the 1999 F250 7.3L Lariat, I have the stock mirrors on it, and need To replace them. I have been trying to research if it would be possible to upgrade them with turn signals and heated. I’ve been trying to research and find out how to check if the pins are set up, or if I’d need to add some wiring and change it a little. I plan on upgrading my headlights and if I need to run new wire, would it be better to do everything at once? How would I find out if it will be straight plug-and-play or if I need to change things?
Recently did this on my 2000 F350. I upgraded to the 08 style mirrors with the 17 style blinkers, work lights, and puddle lights. Yes you will have some extra wiring to do...but not bad, and so worth it. I also upgraded to the Harley style 05 head lights and installed fogs as well. Then I replaced the incandescent bulbs with brighter whiter LED units.
Here is a write up for the 99-01 trucks. I've also seen a different thread/video mention using a towing wiring harness as it has four different colors.

Great job, man. Are those the 17+ puddle lights or did the 11 to 16s come with them? I'm just amazed that the 17+ turn signal housings are the same size as the 08-16s. But it makes sense that they are using the same housing and just changed up the upper cover and main mirror shape for a new look.
How did you wire up the puddle lights... just splice them into the power for the signals that come on and then go off when the truck is first unlocked? Thanks.

Yes, they are the 08 mirror housing with 17 turn signal, puddle, and work lights. These are larger than the 17 style housings. I think the puddle lights were wired to the courtesy lights on the door panels if I remember correctly...so the wiring is right there.

Appreciate that response bud thanks. Can you do us a favor and post a couple of pics of those 17+ housings at night? Thanks.
I found them on Ebay. My originals were peeling paint and I sold them for a cheap/free upgrade. These bigger mirrors are great...plus my originals did not extend in and out. Attached is a comparison of them. The 17 mirrors will fit but the support arms angle up on the older trucks and look a little funny in my opinion.

I think the 08 to 16 mirrors look way better than those 17+s. They look goofy IMHO.
Hey guys, new here, I'm not sure how this works yet but I think I'm replying to an old thread but I was wondering where you got these mirrors. Or did you make them to what they are? Thanks
