Creb Engineering - Anyone Use?
Right now I am not sure, I kind of want to go with blueprint as they are established and on tv shows and they have a 1 year warranty on short blocks. On the other hand Creb might be better for me cause he acts like my compression will be under 9.5:1 with 58cc heads where as the blueprint long block which is the same as the short block is 9.5:1 compression with 60cc heads which would put me closer to 10:1 with 58cc heads which I don't truly want since my goal is to run pump gas preferably 87 regular grade but I have my eyes set on mid grade 89.
I pulled the trigger and bought the Creb Engineering shortblock off ebay yesterday. I am currently waiting for a email with a detailed build sheet for the engine for confirmation to start the build. I ended up going with the Hyper piston short block as my truck is a daily driver and the chances of me adding forced induction or nitrous is just not there to warrant the extra money for forged pistons. Even if I went with forged pistons it would still be reconditioned OE cast rods and crank.
I also requested the photo book option for free that will have me getting emailed photos of my short block build so I can add them to my photos when I assemble my motor into what it will be for my truck. I will be posting some of that here as well for updating others, in the mean time I did run into a rash of people on a ford windsor fb group that actually bought long blocks/crate engines from Creb Engineering and posted some of their photos and the ones I talked with had nothing but good things to say and many of them have been using their engines for 5 years with no issues.
