I searched before posting this, I could not find this issue. I have a 2019 F350 XLT with the 360 camera's. The issue is backing up to a trailer. When I get somewhat close I hit the "+" button to zoom in close to the ball. I have found the zoom feature sometimes will not zoom in. Sometimes if I go into neutral or drive and then back into reverse it will then zoom in when I hit the +, sometimes I can try many times and it will not zoom in. It is few and far between, not something that is repeatable, one of those things that if I go to the dealer it probably won't do it for them. I am always backing up to the same trailer, a dump trailer. The truck itself knows I am getting close to something (a trailer) because the backup sensor starts beeping. Sometimes I hit the buttons to turn off the beeping, sometimes I don't. This does not seem to make a difference in the zoom working or not working.
Just yesterday, I was hitching up the fifth wheel for a weekend camping trip and the plus button didn't even appear when using the bed view. Switched view, then returned and it was fine. Little glitches like that happen regularly. Phone, laptop, super Duty...they're all computers that sometimes seem to have a mind of there own. At work, I used to call the IT department every time I had a computer problem. What was there first suggestion? Restart. I now just accept that glitches happen. Restart or switch functions and 99.9% of the time, problem solved.
On my 17 King Ranch, I have found that the zoom feature is not available until the truck has been running for a minute or so. It also seems to take longer if it is in reverse as opposed to starting the truck, letting it idle for a little while and then into reverse to back up.
While I could be completely off base, I always figured that different parts of the computer have to load, which takes time, for everything to be functional. I have also found if I fire it up and go right into reverse, when I shift into drive, instead of still seeing the camera for a few seconds as I pull forward, I get a graphic display that looks like it is showing the sensors on the screen. If I wait 30 seconds or so before backing up, all is normal.
Mine also won't zoom at times. Very frustrating when trying to hook up a trailer. I'll have to see if there is any correlation between it not working and how long the truck has been running. Typically when hooking up the trailer the truck is already within six feet of so and fairly well lined up, so it doesn't run long after starting it, putting it in reverse, and backing toward the trailer....
