Question Parking assist

I noticed that my parking assist does not work. Most of the time, it displays off without me turning it off. Where and how should I start to trouble shoot the problem?

If you have a way to read codes you should be able to tell which sensor has gone bad. there is a post on here, somewhere, that explains how to figure out which sensor/s is bad without a diagnostic tool. You may want to do a search for it. I have Autoenginuity which is software for my laptop and a USB cable to DLC.

I have the opposite problem...

I get incredibly irritated with the fact that mine resets itself every time you shift out of reverse.. If I'm backing a trailer and have to pull forward to adjust/correct, once I go back into reverse it's screaming at me again.

Is this normal?

Yes, that's normal. You just have to get used to punching that button. When your backing a trailer it's there just to let you know how good (or bad) you are at backing your trailer.

LOL that sucks.. I never have to hit it more than once with my boat, but when I'm backing my 16 foot enclosed cargo trailer... well, let's just say I'm not as good when using my mirrors as opposed to looking over the shoulder.. haha

I'm the opposite. I can plug my trailers in anywhere when using my mirrors. It's when I have someone "guiding me" that I have problems.

I searched using parking assist not backup sensors. I found the thread thanks, one more piece of the puzzle.

Heh, I just need more confidence.. I'm good at picking the right lines, but once you get the trailer turned at a different angle from the truck and can't see that one corner, I get scared of nailing it on something. No clue why... it's an irrational fear, especially because I'm rarely backing into a really tight hole.

It works now

I'm happy to say, that my backup warning buzzer is now functioning properly. The inside sensors are tough to remove having big hands.
Thanks to all.
