Fuel Pump Maybe??
Fuel Pump Maybe??
2000 F350 V10, a week ago drove the truck about an hour it was about 90 degrees out, shut the truck off, 30 seconds go by try to start and turns over doesn't start, sounded like it was starving for fuel , tried a few times and nothing, let it sit about twenty minutes fired right up like nothing happened, No stumbling not skipping, nothing, It happened again today except this time would not start at all, havent begun to diagnose yet but, I have had fuel pumps go before and they go out once and thats it, Any thoughts? Thanks.
Not a gas engine buy but have you pulled codes to see if anything is stored? Lots of times a heat related issue of crank but no start is electrical in nature.
have you bumped the bottom of the tank to see if this is cause the fuel pump to work?

If this is strictly a ‘hot no-start’ situation then you probably have a different issue. The first test, which is simple, is to drive the truck and get it to operating temperature. Probably best to just drive around your area and shut it off at home. Immediately try and restart it. If it cranks and doesn’t fire, hold the throttle pedal to the floor and try starting it again. If it starts up fine and continues running, then your problem is a very rich running condition, where the engine is basically flooding itself while running.
