Would oil analysis confirm that? I rarely hear it anymore, not just ignoring things. Next time I hear it I plan to try unplugging IMRC as well. Mine definitely seems to come from the bottom side, as you mentioned.

I’m not sure, there is another guy that started a thread talking about the same knock but he never posted any update if he found the cause. It seems like we are the only ones experiencing this issue because I can’t find any others complaining about it.
Yup, that sure sounds like it. I didn't realize the 6R100 stuck around after the 10R100 came out. Interesting. I love mine, even with 3:55's and 36" tires. Still have not noticed the knock in quite a while now, but I do not assume that it is gone.
I just bought my 2017 6.2 last year and coming from a tuned 6.7 it's hard not to notice all the noises this 6.2 makes. Last week I heard a tapping noise and found #8 coil was arching out. Ended up replacing the coil because the plastic on the bottom was cracking apart and also had the old rubber boot rip and had to dig that out of the head. The IMRC has made a slight tapping noise before and when I unplugged it, it went away and did not come back on when I plugged it back in. The noise that really bothers me is the flutter, exhaust leak, motorboat sound during acceleration on the bottom end that sounds like its coming from under the engine. I checked the manifolds and joints but didn't see any leaks.
