I am in the market for a new cargo trailer. Wondering if there is any advantage of a V nose vs. a regular square nose unit. Seems to be mixed opinions on both. I have had 2 square nosed units in the past. I have a construction company so use them to haul tools and material around.
The v-nose has slightly less wind resistance and a bit more interior volume. Our Boy Scout Troop has a v-nose trailer. We store the propane tanks in the v-nose section.
New ATC Trailer
I have an ATC 18 + 2 V-nose trailer. If I were to re-do it I would probably get the square nose. It looks like it would be more aerodynamic but with the height of my trailer it's like pulling a parachute at highway speeds anyway. A square nose trailer is easier to load, in my opinion, as you will have a flat surface to load against. Mine also has a battery and a pump in the nose for the electric/hydraulic discs. I love the trailer and it tows great, I just don't know if you gain anything with the v-nose. The pic is pre-delivery. I had an electric jack added. Well worth the investment. I have them on all 4 of my trailers (3 goosenecks and this one).
