When I update the upholstery in my 72 F100 Ranger package I also plan to replace the original floor mat. The existing one is in "decent" shape but has some tears and some larger than needed cuts from the PO who moved the 3 on the tree to the floor. Also it is red and black and I plan to replace my red interior with brown synthetic leather (already purchased custom door panels and seats) Most of the mat's I found do not go under the seat/bench like the original ones did, except for this Polyvinyl one from LMC (1/8" Thick Molded Industrial Polyvinyl (MIP) Floor Mats | 1961-72 Ford F100 & F250 | LMC Truck) - before I buy the LMC one...are there other, better options out there? I am looking for something that is more like a rubber floor, I do not want carpet.
I bought a vinyl mat from Automotive Interiors. It runs under the seat, all the way to the tank. I had to do a fair amount of trimming on all sides to fit it properly. It was molded well, so it conforms to the floor pretty well. I paid $158 with shipping.
Two things about it I don't like: 1) It has a fairly strong smell. Not a bad smell, and it will fade with time, but it smells like a lot of new rubber products smell. 2) The insulation material they sent was too small from side to side. I wound up cutting it into three pieces: one for the hump and two for the foot wells. Not a big deal, but it left maybe 10% of the floor uncovered.
Thanks Coastal! I've been looking at National Parts Depot, LMC and Stock Interiors (https://www.stockinteriors.com/items...10&MainCatId=5) - most look OK, and all seem to be a version of one another. Challenge is determining which one to order! I figured I would also order a sound/heat shield separately in hopes that it would fit better.
