We got a great deal more than competitive and got a great price on my trade-in and they can work a deal to exclude the sales tax.
As my local Host dealer would not take my trade-in I had to search across the US for a dealer who took trades and was in a location I would not mind visiting. Having spent almost a year searching, talking and dealing with Host auth dealers across the US I found Tom's Camperland in Phoenix area the best and the best price. Willing to work with you. I ended up ordering because NO ONE that I can find in the past year had new or used what we wanted...simple, U shaped dinette and a rear wardrobe in lieu of the 2nd sofa...a 2nd sofa in a truck camper is about as handy as me taking an accordion on a deer hunting trip. Attached is the order form we sent in to start the process.
Now Wed, Aug 14 I head down to the my Ford dealer to order my 2020 F 450 to haul the Host mammoth.
Woo Hoo...What fun! Best of luck waiting on two great new toys!
If I may ask, why an F450 instead of an F350 DRW diesel? If I read the spec sheet correctly, both have the same GVWR (14K), but the F450 CCLB’s curb weight is 480 lbs. more, which means 480 lbs. less payload.

Sweet! Congratulations - you're going to LOVE that setup. It'll be nice to have another Host Mammoth owner in these parts. Have you figured out what trim, options, and configuration you're going to go with on your F450? I hope to be able to upgrade within the next couple of years but was really disappointed Ford opted not to put the new 7.3L gas in the F450. Still, I'll be very interested in your experiences and thoughts once you've driven the F450/Mammoth combo.

The reason I'm considering the F450 over my current F350 is that the former has heavier duty everything - tires, wheels, brakes, and rear axle, as well as a much better turning radius. That GVWR of 14K is a paper rating for both trucks but the F450 is more significantly underrated, IMO.

Thanks to Warbird for his insight and help!
Ordering a F 450 King Ranch. HOPEFULLY, my dealer will place my order on Wed, supposed to be opened up for ordering. He is gonna hate me, I got X plan and was sent a $1000 offer on any 2020 (except some Mustangs etc).
Based upon the tea leaves as I see them now, my Host Mammoth should show up in Nov-Dec and about the same time for my F 450...hope!

On paper it looks like that. The 19.5 tires and the brakes alone are worth it. I have had 3 F350's and the F450 is simply better for hauling a heavy camper and towing a car trailer at the same time.

YEP!
Looking at the specs one would think the F 350 is slightly less of a truck on the payload side than the F 350. In fact for years I harbored the thinking the F 350 was more for payload whereas the F450 was more for tow!
In MY opinion, based upon my personal research and in discussions with several folks on here who have the background and experience in and with the Superduty line and I trust there statements...the F 450 is more of a class 4 truck in disguise as a class 3. Or a F 350 wrapped in a class 4 frame, wheels, tires, brakes.
That said in order to do that they must use the same MATH which is based upon the magic number of 14,000 lbs, do the math and it appears the F 450 is less when it fact its more, MUCH more.
Just my opinion as a practicing engineer (RET) for most of my professional career.
They are derated so they can sell more, the 450 is much more truck than listed on paper. I would have a 450 but do not want 19.5's since I can't air them down and switching out rims/tires would be a hassle.

I would think you would have no problem at all trading them for a set of DRW F 350's ASSUMING that wheels would clear the brake units???
