I know I have been having this issue for a little while. I am in the middle of doing a compressor change and all that comes with it and I figured now is a good time to get some pictures of the areas that have obvious signs of an oil or transmission leak.
I know for a fact i have a transmission fluid leak because I have to add fluid every so often. Engine oil....I am not so sure. I have not checked the level of oil. When doing an oil change I put 15qts. I have recently read that sometimes 15qts causes a leak and to put 13.5-14 qts of oil and see if stops.
The very first thing I'd do is re-seal the dipstick tube with a new o-ring. Clean, then see what's happening. It may be wrapping around to the rear plate.
You have the common seepage from the bedplate and oil pan, but not extreme.

X2 it was exactly the same for me last year. PO tried to seal with silicone, glad none of it got into the internals.
Not that common. Most times it something else and the seal gets get dome as throwing parts.

I agree with Jack on this and it's likely the bed plate seal.
Well I appreciate the help, but I can tell you if its the bed plate, I wont be pulling my engine out and taking it apart that much in my driveway. That is something I will having to pay somebody and it would have to get pretty bad before I did not. I'm sure that is a pretty expensive fix.
I have two trucks one was fixed and the other was not.
The one that was not fixed I just run one quart short at oil change.
The driveway is clean under both trucks.
One way to locate the leak is to use the dye for the oil and a black light.
First clean as much of the mess off as you can get at. Then do what the
instructions list. Drive a few days and then at night start looking with the
black light for places that glow.
When I got home yesterday and took a picture for another thread I have about my fan clutch adapter, I checked the valley for any oil and it looks dry. Doesn't appear to be coming from the valley. I'm planning on working on my truck again this weekend and will be able to get under there and follow the dip sticks and see what I see.
My bell housing looks exactly the same. No drips on the driveway. I don't worry about it. It's the coolant leaks that drive me crazy.
15 quarts seems like a lot of motor oil. I fill mine until the dipstick tells me to stop. That's typically 13.5 quarts.
Surprisingly little discussion here about what's causing it to eat transmission fluid. Are you checking the level at operating temps with the truck idling on a level surface?
