Ram to continue selling the 1500 Classic

According to FCA's CEO, Ram has no plans to discontinue sales of the 1500 Classic, and might even give it some updates.

Good news for us cost-conscious buyers.

The "classic" is priced just as high as the other trucks in it's class, what a gimmick and a smart one at that.

Close but not quite.

Local dealer has a Classic Ram 1500 Ext Cab with the Warlock trim package (a blacked out package added to the Tradesman trim level) for about $23k.

A similar F150 Ext Cab STX is closer to $25K. The F150 has the 2.7L and bucket seats, so it is the one that I would take, but no black out package.

The Ram is slightly cheaper, but the Ford is the better overall value.

But you are correct. It is a bait and switch for Ram. Get them into the dealership with a low ball Classic, then upgrade them to the redesigned truck.
