Trim package availability?

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a 2017 F350 regular cab with the Platinum trim package?.

Unfortunately no, you won't find any and can't order them. In fact, you can't get anything beyond XLT in a regular cab. Your options are limited to the following:
Reg Cab - XL/XLT
Super Cab - XL/XLT/Lariat
Crew Cab - any trim

The higher trim levels are only available on Crew Cab, and even the Super Cab can only go up to Lariat.

This is very frustrating for some people, my dad for example. This particular truck, he ordered a base xl regular cab, mainly because he works out of a transit van now, and only uses the truck to pull the bobcat or camper occasionally. But in the past, when he was working out of a truck, he would get very frustrated because he wanted a lariat f150 or 250, and would have to settle for a XLT.

I've heard quite a few folks lament that they can't get higher trim levels in the reg cabs, but I'm sure from a Ford perspective the uptake rate would be so low it just wouldn't make sense to add the different parts and production complexity. I'd be willing to bet 90% or better reg cabs sold are fleet jobs where the only thing that matters to those buyers is cost and time in service. No way you're going to get a lot of orders for anything "nice."

That being said, even if I didn't need the crew cab, I would never even consider having a reg cab again. It would definitely be a supercab. It's unbelievable how useful it is to have a little extra inside storage, even if it's just a 1 man operation.

I really don't know why someone who wanted the leather and other fancy doodads wouldn't just get a Lariat supercab. It certainly makes everything, especially working out of the vehicle, much easier and more comfortable. Oh well, to each their own I suppose.

Dad likes his regular cabs for several reasons.

That is what he has been driving since the early 70s. Just what he is use to.

Maneuverability on the job site. Being in high end residential construction, job site parking can get very tight, especially in the tail end of the build, when parking off the driveway is no longer an option.

Lighter truck equals better performance and fuel mileage.

Looks. And I have to agree with him. Dressed up regular cabs always seem to look better than extended or crew cabs. This coming from someone with a cc, and I will never buy anything else. At least not until the kids move out, but probably not even then. With the way they are spread apart, I'll probably have grand kids before the youngest is out of the house.

This. You can't get anything above an XLT in a reg cab.

That said, I have seen some screwy SC and CC configurations. The dealer I bought mine from had a CCLB 2wd 6.2 King Ranch that they tried to lure me into with a $15K off sticker offer. The truck had been traded between dealers a few times from what I remember.
