I'm in Michigan halfway through my yearly trip around the country and my truck just started... Sometimes... Making a deep thrumming sound and vibration when accelerating and when I get off the throttle fast.
I think that that sound is related to the rear driveshaft. It could be the early stages of a u-joint getting tight and needing replacement. It could be a loose bolt on the driveshaft to transfer case adapter. Or it could be the rusty old driveshaft is out of balance because it lost a weight.
Mine does it over 67 mph. Approximately 4 times faster than wheel revolution speed.
