As close a comparison as one might get: CCSB, 4x4 with XLT Premium Package. Payload 2355
That's an 851# loss for going Diesel. However Blue6.2 may have the FX4 package which I do not, but I did add Skid Plates (which is the weight addition of the FX4 package). I also have the heavy Tow package with adds the 3 inch receiver and the M275 axle, which are suspect are heavier than the 2.5 and the Sterling, but I do not know by how much.
That is correct, my truck has the fx4 package. Great example!
Annie doing her imitation of my ex '17 F-250 with 3000 lbs on the gooseneck hitch. LOL....
Pic of between 14,400 and 15,100 depending on which chart I used to get the weight total. Fairly short height load but double stacked on both sides and 30 ft long. I actually had more on it a few times just didnt get pics and it still isn’t squatting enough to bother me.
Lets say 14,500 and 20% pin makes it 2900. Even have the taller heavy service front springs.
With the SRW and 20s you start getting some limitations especially with 3.55 gears. She starts feeling pretty heavy up around 15k loads.
My payload on truck in my signature is 4226 lbs. Do yourself a favor and go with the 1 ton to get the most payload. Price difference is little between the F250 and F350. Keep in mind that the more options you put on the truck will lower the payload and do it quickly.

The SRW F350 has a small slot of use it fits in.
My 250 pulled and stopped the loads just a well as the 350. No complaints there. There is a very noticeable difference in what happens to the rear end when you set the trailer down on the ball and how it responds to bumps and such in the road surface. I loved my 250, put over 50k miles on it in about 18 months. Load in pic was about 9k + the 4700# trailer weight. Just needed a bigger hammer so I got the 350.
My 6.7 CCSB 4x4 has ~2500 lbs payload. Perfect for what I want it for, towing my 12k toy hauler. If you ever plan on getting a 5th wheel your absolute baseline is an F350 and can quickly get into DRW territory. Also check with state reg fees. The F350 here in California is quite a bit more every year for tags, so just blanket recommending an F350 to everyone isn't always the best idea. Buy the truck you need, and might need in the future, but no point in wasting money on unused capacity if it costs you every year.
My 2019 F-250 Lariat Ultimate CCSB with the 6.2l has 3104lbs for payload, the 6.7l F-350 that I traded in had 3504 for payload. I think not having a sunroof is this one is the saving grace for me, the F-250’s I was looking at with sunroofs were about 2900lbs. Our fifth wheel is a “half ton towable”, Grand Design 290BH that has a claimed pin weight of 1280lbs & a GVWR of 10,195 so even with a 20% pin weight at (max) 2000 lbs I’m comfortable with my payload.

You ever actually weighed it? I've seen quite a few trailers that are a thousand pounds heavier on their tongue/pin weight than advertised. That metric is screaming for regulation, RV manufacturers are super shady at justifying the stated weights. How hard is it to weigh a trailer and slap a sticker on it at the factory?

A lot can be said for proper springing over airbags.
I never have ran airbags.
My 250 will pull just about anything below CDL territory. Has practically every option, even came with 2 sets of floor mats.

I have not actually weighed the camper & I agree with how shady RV manufacturers are. At one point there was an actual weight of the camper you purchased sticker, typically a yellow sticker affixed after the unit was built but I have not found one on this camper, my previous one did have it though. I’m going off of the Mfr sticker on my particular camper that is supposed to be the actual build for this unit which shows my empty weight. My empty weight is listed as 8482 with the max weight of cargo allowed 1453 for a total GVWR of 9935 (call it 10k) While I can't for sure say how accurate it is (with out a trip to the scales) I can say that when I was shopping for campers I compared this one to a similar one & the numbers were different, probably due to mine having an additional AC unit in the bedroom. Either way unless they are way way off on their numbers I am more than comfortable pulling it with 3100lbs of payload.
