intake casting number
hello,
I was hoping someone could identify intake casting number
D1AE-9425-CA
It is on a 79 F150. Previous owner told me it was a 302. But when I tried to get an Edelbrock intake for a 302, it did not fit. Can anyone please shed some light. Thanks

I find the easiest way to tell a 351W from a 302 is to look at the lower thermostat bolt. If you could slide a socket on it you have a 351. If it is below the top of the water pump and would require a wrench to get off then you have a 302. You can tell the difference at a glance.

Thanks guys. Wow, you were all over it. Absolutely correct, a 351 Windsor intake. Like I told you, the previous owner told me it was a 302, and it even has 5.0 liter family, 302 displacement on the valve covers. I guess he changed a few parts. All this time, I've been buying replacement parts for a 302 (oil filter, spark plugs, fuel pump) and everything was fitting. Well this info actually helps me out a lot.
