So this is beat to death but a definite answer might change the course of my build. So after some research about casting numbers for GT40s, I decided to look at the bottom of the heads I have and the casting is F3ZE-AA which combined with 1/2” head bolt holes indicates these they came off of a Lightning, correct? Also, I’m attaching pictures of the rocker arm mounts and they look as though they’re already set up for screw-in stud mounts. Is this correct or are they just screw in pedestal mount instead of press fit?
All late model SBF heads have pedestal mount rocker and that is what you have there. It is possible they came off a Lightning but the bolt hole size isn't a guarantee of that, Ford used shouldered head bolts in some cases.
Let me know what machine shop you go with. Still saving to get the springs and seats for my GT40s.
Will do. Most likely going with Magnum Machine off Military Highway. Lot of good reviews and some friends have used them with good results and no complaints.
