I was wondering if D0OE heads are a direct swap with e7 heads. I have a 93 f150 with a 351w and have some issues with my e7 heads. I know there are better alternatives such as gt40 heads but I don't have the money for them. Even minor head work is out of reach at the moment. Any help is very much appreciated.
Now the reason my e7 have to come off is a can of worms I opened up. I had a manifold leak and figured if I have to fix the manifolds might as well upgrade to shorty headers. Which I have. So I soaked them in pb blaster for about two weeks. Driver side manifold came out nice and easy. Passenger side didn't. 7 out of the 8 fasteners broke. Tried the weld the nut on trick. One came out and even the threads in the block are freakin destroyed....
Now for a little info on the DO heads. They do have hardened valve seats. They also have Chevy rocker arm studs and rocker arms. They are from a 351w as well. That's about all I know other than their in decent shape.
Any help would be appreciated and thanks for stickin through the long winded post.
Below are some pictures of what I have going on.
Thanks again guys!
How many intake bolt holes on those heads? Some of the early 351 heads had extra bolts. With stud mount rockers you're going to have to test for pushrod length because they won't be standard length but otherwise I'd say you're good to go.
You need a pushrod length tester(it's pretty much just an adjustable pushrod) and you should google how to setup stud mount rockers correctly, websites like Comp cams may have some info on it but you may also find some handy videos floating around out there in the interwebs too.
Yea I actually just watched one from summit. Sounds like its easy enough. I've rebuilt a few small engines so I think I handle it. Thanks for the great help. It's really appreciated.
