Clock spring issue

So after researching I’ve determined that I have a bad clock spring. My issue now is finding the correct replacement. The part number is 2C7Z-14A664-AC. No luck finding this part anywhere online. My 03 Excursion is an Eddie Bauer trim with all options including the factory dvd player. I’ve contacted Dorman who makes this aftermarket clock spring for Excursion and they know this is an issue. What can I do to modify one to work on my Excursion? The white plug is a 6 pin and the gray plug is a 7 pin. Anyone else had this issue in finding a correct clock spring for their Excursion??

I've been there and done this. I ordered mine from Tasca Parts. I have a 2002 Limited, and the Dorman part won't work. The Dorman part is made for trucks that don't have all the extra controls in the steering wheel. I'll try and find my ordering history.

Thanks blueovl….When I googled the part number Tasca came up but unfortunately the part is discontinued. Every Ford dealership out there shows the same issue. My thought is.... Can a modification be done on a new part to get everything working except for maybe the dvd player? I can always do that manually. I may have to resort to getting a used clock spring but will probably have the same issue of finding the correct one. Has anyone else had this issue ?

Wow! They must have just recently discontinued that part. I bought that in the Spring of this year. You have to buy the whole airbag assembly to get the clock spring.

Contacted Tasca by phone today, was only a 20 minute wait, and as I feared the part is discontinued!! Has anyone out there had an issue with the clock spring on their Excursion?? I find it so hard to believe that no one has the correct part. Forman, the after market supplier does not have the part. So now I’m off to the used part market to see what I can find. I would much rather be putting new in! If anyone has a solution out there that I may not have thought about I’m welcome to any suggestions.

Thats the whole thing airbag and all. That's a good price. If the color is right. I think. I may be wrong.

It's the same part number that you had on your order from Tasca. So whatever you got, this is probably the same.

Thank you All for your help. I haven’t contacted that Ford dealer but will in the morning. It’s amazing how difficult it’s been to find this part. Especially when it controls so many things from your horn, airbag, HVAC, cruise, radio. I will let you all know if that dealer does indeed have it.

What exactly is your failure leading you to the clock spring as the issue? Do you have inop buttons?
As you know it's a ribbon connector, and you may have a break in one of either end pivot points, which eventually happens cause they see the most stress, the overall coil "spring" just expands and contracts slightly when turning the wheel. If you find a split, or crack at a stress point, it can be fixed if you know how, with a pencil soldering gun, and patience. Best to get your new one if you can, then save the original one for down the road.

I had not really thought about repair for this clock spring as I thought there would be no issue getting a replacement from either a dealer or the after market. I have lost all power to the buttons on either side of the steering wheel. What really brought reality was the airbag light was on and the horn would not work! I will definitely attempt the repair if possible and pray that I can get the part. But my point to all of you reading this is that there should not be this issue for anyone. Dorman products is the only source for after market clock springs for all automobiles and trucks. There must be a better solution for all us Excursion owners. Thank you all on this forum for your help.

Ok right now when I put info for my 2002 Limited this is the part that comes up {#5C3Z14A664AA). This is the clock spring for trucks with audio controls in the steering wheel. This is the part that I received, and it's available now. I know what the order said but this what they sent me based on my VIN.
