Thanks blueovl….When I googled the part number Tasca came up but unfortunately the part is discontinued. Every Ford dealership out there shows the same issue. My thought is.... Can a modification be done on a new part to get everything working except for maybe the dvd player? I can always do that manually. I may have to resort to getting a used clock spring but will probably have the same issue of finding the correct one. Has anyone else had this issue ?
Go direct to the Tasca web site Put in details for your 2003 Eddy Bauer and you will get this part #{#5C3Z14A664AA. I just did it moments ago. This is for trucks with audio controls in the steering wheel, which I'm sure your truck has. Just like my Limited. I think there is a problem with catalog description. This is the part I received from Tasca based on my VIN.

I’ve been on the phone for a few hours now. After contacting both Tasca and discount Ford, neither place had the part available. Found a place in Kansas that says he has a clock spring that matches the engineering number on the original part... maybe I’ll get lucky! After I have the correct part in hand I’ll consider revisiting my skills at pencil soldering. I thank all of you that have reached out to help and pray no one has this issue with their Excursion in the future.

I didn't realize that an 03 EB had the option for steering wheel controls for volume.
I myself have an 03 EB with 7.3 diesel and only cruise control on the steering wheel.. Is yours by chance a 6.0 ?

Yes I do... I currently have almost 215K miles on this Excursion and it’s still running strong. This is really the first time I’ve had any real issues with it. I do have to use an additive now for the oil as the injectors tend to have stiction and it runs a little rough when cold. Will be dealing with that soon to resolve that.
I have a used one from an 05 6.0 limited with all controls on the wheel, I thought it was my clockspring gone bad but it wasn't, it's the airbag. I'm out of town for 2 weeks so I cant tell u the exact part number. If you're interested I can let you know in 2 weeks.

It might have been an option. My 03 Limited has volume controls on the steering. It might also be a possibility that your steering wheel was replaced by a PO, assuming you are not the first owner
The 2002 Models and beyond (not sure what production dates) were equipped with the newer style instrument cluster sporting the digital odometer, electronic climate controls, and additional steering wheel controls. It was 2002 that the GEM module that piggybacked the lower dash fuse box was omitted. My 2001 sales brochure states that the adjustable pedals would be avail late 2001. Mine was produced Nov of 2000.
This is the plug that attaches at the bottom of the column This is the connection that seems to be different than anything out there This is the original clock spring with engineering number 2C7T-14A664-AD
Well the saga continues finding a clock spring for my 03 Excursion. The part the Kansas ford dealer sent was wrong, so I’m back to square one. I’ve attached some photos of the original part. The Ford dealers that I’ve talked to tell me the part number is 2C7Z-14A664-AC, which is no longer available anywhere. My next recourse is to try the used part market. My question to you on this forum is what are your suggestions???I can live without the controls for the HVAC and radio but I feel the cruise control is a must. I have already checked 3 different columns at the junk yard and none of them had the white plug with 6 connections. Any help is appreciated beyond my last resort of repairing the old clock spring.
I don't get it? That is the exact same part that I replaced on my 2002 Limited. Same 6 pin connector. Right now if put in my info on Tasca's web site that 6 pin connector is what comes up, and shows as available. What do they say? When I was working on mine I to replace the buttons because the lights were burned out, and the guy at parts counter argued that the limited did not have "redundant" controls. He finally realized there is a mistake in the reference data and got me the part.
All of the pics you posted above are your original broken clock spring, do you know how many conductors are in the ribbon?
I'll run by our family U Pull it yard when I'm out today or tomorrow and see what they have for Navigator, Expedition vehicles. Not that they will be a direct drop in, but I'm wondering about re pinning a used one, or just pulling the entire ribbon and using it in your shell. I've never completely taken apart the clock spring units in these vehicles. I do know around here our commercial and chain salvage yards will not sell you an air bag unit. I don't know why, some liability issue.

I’ve not taken the clock spring apart to check the ribbon as that was going to be my last resort. The 2 cables on the top with the white 6 pin seemingly the most important and the 2 cables on the bottom. As far as repinning the ribbon, I haven’t found a source for that and not sure I’d want to tackle it myself. If you find the clock spring that has not been damaged that would be great. But I’ve noticed that once the column has been removed from the vehicle the clock springs get destroyed by too much movement.

bluovl, I’ve contacted Tasca and the part number 2C7Z-14A664-AC is no longer available. Is this the part number that you received?
