2016 factory keyless entry
My drivers door has the ford “stick on” key pad. The batteries are dead and I want the factory wired version. I have the 5 digit code on the module behind the passenger kick panel.
I pulled the door panel off to see if I have the factory plug in the door for it but I don’t see it?
Does anyone know where it would be if it’s there?
If it’s not there can I add it?
I know I would probably have to have the dealer “turn on” this option. I am going to install the remote start antenna and have them program the keys soon
I’ve read that the tpm module that the remote start antenna plugs into in the 2016 is in the headliner on the driver side, is this true? I haven’t looked yet.
Thanks to everyone that can help I appreciate it!
You can get FORScan and an OBDII module and turn on the remote start without visiting a dealer. If you have two keys, you can program the keys yourself. You will need a hood switch if one is not installed.
Not sure about the wiring for the OEM in door key pad but suspect you might need more than a simple plug and play as the wires in the door and truck wires might not have them.
Some say you can take dental floss and "cut" the double side tape to remove the key pad from the door. Then pop it open to replace the battery(s). Remove old double sided tape from door and key pad prior to using new double sided tape to install again.
thanks for confirmation on the location of the Tpms module, I’ve read some about downloading For Scan and doing it myself.
The truck does does have the hood switch so I know I’m good there.
I really dont like the “add on” keyless entry. It looks crappy and I don’t want to rely on batteries. Trying to figure this out is my biggest concern. Not sure if I would maybe need a new door harness?
Door Keypad connector face
Main door harness pin locations
BCM connector face pin locations
You would need to see if the main harness from the door connector to the BCM contains the 6 wires to be able to add the keypad to the door by only adding a main door harness.
Good luck.
The first previous photo, the schematic, shows the wire colors you need to look for in the main door harness. Also need to check the connector on the A pillar for these wire colors. If you can not located them in any of the wire bundles, you can not do a plug and play setup.
This photo shows the "approximate location" of the C2280C connector on the BCM. You will have to use the BCM connector wire colors to further ID the correct connector. See the last photo above for the wire colors and pin locations. Your photo the connector appears to be on the bottom left...in the vehicle, it might be closer to the firewall side of the BCM???
C2280C location photo.
Ill have check colors and actual amount of pins later this evening,
so it seems maybe I just need the door key pad the clip that holds it in, the correct harness and have the software turned on
what would the correct harness PN be? Maybe one with power folding mirrors Incase I want to try and add that later????

Before buying the harness. I would check the "A" pillar connector and BCM connector against the above BCM connector photo to ensure you have those wires in the truck harness. Otherwise buying the harness might be a waste of money.

you've been extremely helpful, I appreciate it.
Hopefully i I can get this all working
Ok so I got a chance too look at the cab side of the door this morning, I could see 2 of the keyless entry colors. I’m sure I have the other I just couldn’t manipulate the loop enough to see all of them. I’m attaching a pic of the ones I could see highlighted. I guess I need to check the plug on the bcm next?
The driver's door harness part number for my particular truck is DC3Z-14631-ZA.
The part number for the factory keyless entry keypad is BC3Z-14A626-AA.
By the way, my truck does not have power folding mirrors, only power adjustment and heated, if it matters.
If you were to enter base part number 14631 to look up the door harness for your particular truck, and come up with a different number, that'll tell for sure if it is different or not. But I suspect you've already determined whether or not the plug is present for the keypad or not by now, just by looking.
Will the the truck be able to be programmed to make it all function? I already have the 5 digit code so I assume it could.
Obviously I’ll hook it all up and make sure I can get it all working before I cut a hole in my door haha. But I am willing to make the effort to have the factory keyless entry.
Please give honesty input if you don’t think it will
I appreciate all the help greatly
