Hey all. Just replaced my ac compressor, drier and orifice tube on my 94 f250. I know this isnt really vehicle specific but was hoping someone who knows about ac systems could help me out. I put the system under vacuum for 45 minutes and also it held vacuum for 45 minutes. I then added refridgerant to the system. I didnt notice at first that the compressor wasnt engaging but the refridgerant seemed to enter the system. I continued to fill up the system as it seemed to go in. I ended up jumping the low pressure switch on the drier to get the compressor to engage but when engaged my guage is reading negative pressure on the low side and zero pressure on the high. Anyone have any idea what my issue might be?
Thats kinda what im thinking. I dont know where it would have gone though. I put in 32 oz. So a little over 2 cans. And i do hear a trickling sound when i turn the truck off. Should i try adding more with the compressor running this time?
Dont see anywhere it woupd be leaking from. Didnt notice any refridgerant coming out while filling either. I could see it in the little glass peep on the guages while filling.
I bought 3 12 oz cans and put the third one on a scale to get 8oz from it. I did get a mototcraft orifice tube. Looked exactly like the one i replaced. I did not replace condenser. I went back out tried putting the remaining refridgerent in today with the compressor running. Didnt seem to change anything. So i put the system under vaccum again to see if it would hold. Didnt hold vacuum this time. So im assumi g there is a leak either on the gaugesor the system. I put uv dye oil in the compressor so i will look later to see if there is a leak with a light.
