Wow, now another problem, I am not sure is related however...........

Earlier model trucks have an oil pressure gauge that is ON- OFF... I assume the 2013 is the same... At 8 psi the gauge goes to mid range. At 7 psi it drops to ZERO on the gauge.. Not actual pressure. If you want the real reading, you need a dial test gauge connected.. FIRST, is the oil up to the MAX mark.. Is the oil the right viscosity... How OLD is the oil ? ............... if all the above is OK, then you have a weak pump, or an internal lose of oil somewhere.... cam phaser / chain adjuster/ etc........... go with the simple first... GOOD oil, RIGHT viscosity, UP to the MAX.

Fuse 27, TSB 15-0137 may be the culprit. This issue can slowly start all sorts of problems as it burns through the fuse box. Easy fix with a Ford relocation kit for the fuse. I did it early on with 2013 5.0 as it seemed like a situation going to happen at some point.

Please keep us posted. Hopefully it’s something easy and not real costly. Good luck.

OK, so I dropped it off on Friday and was told late Sat it was ready to pick up. I couldn't make it there before they closed so I haven't gotten it yet, but they said it was 2.5 quarts low on oil. If you have read this entire thread you might remember that I got an oil change on June 4th when it was at Maxwell Ford here in Austin, Texas. That was when I got the original P03049 (Camshaft Position Sensor) code. So, even though I had not even reach the dealership's mileage for another oil change, I was 2.5 quarts low. My current mechanic said the only way that was possible was if it was burning a lot of oil and if that was happening, there would be evidence to suggest it but he found no evidence that anything was irregularly burning oil or leaking oil so he thinks that Maxwell Ford just didn't add enough oil in the first place. If that is true, that is very concerning about Maxwell Ford.

When I asked about the misfiring, he said that having very low oil could cause misfires as well. He said they test drove it after adding the oil and they didn't experience any misfires even under load. I don't know what it means for them to test it under load but all I had to do is go uphill and I was getting misfires. So now, I have to go pick it up again and try it out again. If I still get the misfires, I am going to be pissed. I mean I have taken it to Maxwell Ford once, and current mechanic twice for the misfires and 2 of those 3 times I have had my oil changed because it happened to also be pushing the P03049 code which could be associated with low oil pressure.

Has anyone ever heard of misfires associated with low oil pressure. I have not read that...

So you and two dealers have noted LOW OIL PRESSURE, and NOBODY ever checked the level ??

Low oil means LOW or NO OIL PRESSURE, which will effect the valve chain tension and cam timing..... which will give POOR RUNNING similar to a misfire.

You misunderstood me, the oil was changed in early June by Maxwell Ford, now changed by someone else. Both times it was due to a P03049 code not because the mileage was past manufacturer mileage recommendation. Other than that, there was no need because it had just been changed.
