Brake Light Staying ON ?
To be clear.... this is the E-Brake light..... NOT the ABS light
The other day while driving home, I lost almost all braking.... basically downshifted and used E-Brake when I had to stop. Honestly, did NOT see the E-Brake light ON except when I used the E-brake.
I replaced the Master Cylinder, but had to take it back to parts store, as one of the plugs did NOT fit, so I couldn't bleed the Master Cylinder without that plug. So bear in mind, it bounced around on trip to parts store & back with brake fluid in it.
Put everything back together, bled all the system per specs... RR, LR. RF. LF. Have a full pedal... ABS works... have braked hard several times, it stays straight, no pulling in any direction.
But.... the E-Brake light stays ON.
My understanding is this lights up for E-Brake....I checked the switch...looks fine. I unplugged, and that didn't do anything.
This light also lights up for LOW brake fluid, but it is full. I checked the float, it seems to freely work as it should. Although I can't see the sensor below float, if it is in correct place. Remember, this was bounced around for a 10 mile trip to parts store. I unplugged the master cylinder switch, that didn't shut off light either.
No ABS codes...although I'd think that has nothing to do with this problem.
Thoughts ? Any other circuit connected to this light ???
And Yes.... I do have plenty of black tape to go over red light....
