Pushrod/Tapit gallery cover question
So I just embarked on getting rid of some oil leaks and did my pushrod cover gasket last night....it was tedious but I did it in around 2 1/2 hours total (had wait time on the rtv to hold gasket in between also). Problem is I read a lot about this and after I got it set up I torqued it down to spec......except the spec I read online was listed as 20 FT-LB. Now I look at my chilton and it’s listed as 18 to 27 IN-LB. Jesus Christ what did I do?! I didn’t bend the cover from what I can tell and I don’t see any visible oil leaks from there that I can tell. My valve cover gasket leaks and it’s hard to say on the back end near the fire wall if that’s the Gasket I just did or my valve cover.
anyway is this the right torque? 18 to 27 in-lb or is it 20 ft-lb? And if it’s inch pound should I go loosen the bolts up? I hope I didn’t do all that work for nothing!

Somebody school me, is this on our trucks? what year? what motor? pushrod cover gasket, and valve cover gasket? if you used the cork gasket, I would start over, because if you back off from 20 ft.lbs. to 18-27 in.lbs. I wouldn't take the chance of just backing off, or your leak/drip could become runs very quickly
