I checked the blend door and the recirculate door and both are working like they should. So now I'm down to the compressor being weak, low charge, or clutch being completely shot.

Following along as I have this same issue with my 99, slow speed(below 30) or idle it’ll freeze yo right out of the truck but anything above that your lucky if you get comfortable less alone cool.

I bypassed the heater core this afternoon. It dropped the temp at the vent about 10 degrees. I'm still thinking I need to evacuate the system and give it a fresh charge. This truck was in the shop over the winter getting a motor swap and I can't be sure they did it when they recharged it.

I saw last night on Harbor Freights website that they have a rinky-dink little vacuum pump for under twenty bucks. Looks like a POS but the reviews are pretty good. Then I'd know for sure there wasn't any air or moisture in the system and that it had the right amount of refrigerant

As long as it gets the system down to 100 microns or better then you're good to go. The expensive ones are expensive because they need to be used more than once a month.

I use one of these: http://www.jbind.com/products/produc...px?SKU=DV-200N

I evacuated the system pulled a vacuum of -25 for 45 minutes then held it for 5 minutes and refilled the system. Now I'm getting 55 to 60 degrees at idle and 45 running down the highway. I think that fixed it. Nipples are rock hard now
